We go with Niño in his performance at Sónar 2015 with a Live Cinema session that dives into the sound concepts that his songs convey and that are clearly reflected in his "Tratado sobre Música Absurda y Artificial". An experiment in audiovisual integration with a suggestive and complex narrative. Work done in conjunction with the photographer and visual artist Juan Carlos Quindós.
Translation in english from the original article:
The avant-garde (and unique) terrain in which Niño walks, was clearly evident in his live performance at Sónar. The abstractness of his beats took on a new dimension in a performance where some of his older songs -such as “Mallete” - and newer ones -such as “Suction System” (from his recent “Treatise on absurd and artificial music”) - left to be recognized at first sight to intuit within a story that multiplied its experimental side. A complex, meticulous, cosmic live show, with a great jazz load at times and that showed that the potential of the Valladolid producer is imposing, extraordinary and excessive. On the screen and accompanying the sound of him, images of Valladolid - the artist's hometown - could be seen, in black and white that managed to convey that cold temperature of the plateau. Visuals made by the artist Juan Carlos Quindós and Alberto Marcos (Birikú Sistema) that ended with the image of a Spanish flag that simulated burning (specifically, the one located in Plaza Colón in Madrid, the largest in Spain). Vindictive message to put an end to one of the most special live shows that have been seen at Sónar.
